Lime plaster wall interior builder

This Grade II listed Georgian house sits on the historic Tredegar Square in east London. The property was in a severe state of disrepair after years of neglect. The clients had bought the property at auction and appointed Architecture for London to design their forever home.

There were many challenges faced in the construction this project, not least the quantity of fine joinery and plaster craftsmanship required to repair or reinstate original Georgian features. Installing low energy services including MVHR and an Air Source Heat pump was also challenging given that original joints and other historic fabric could not be cut or altered.

A combination of clay and lime plaster finishes throughout creates a palette of natural tones while also providing airtightness. Glazing was upgraded to high performance units where possible, and secondary glazing was installed to original windows.

The garden was redesigned with a natural stone terrace, new landscaping and planting.
